THE INTERNATIONAL AIR CARGO ASSOCIATION (TIACA) THE WORLD’S PREMIER AIR CARGO ORGANIZATION

The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) is a global organization dedicated to the mission of "advancing the interests of the air cargo industry and strengthening its contribution to world trade expansion." Headquartered in Miami, Florida, TIACA represents nearly all facets of the air cargo and logistics industry including airlines, air freight forwarders, airports, ground handlers, all-cargo carriers, integrators, shippers, and educational institutions. Its membership includes most of the major players in the air cargo industry from around the world.

TIACA traces its roots back to 1960, when the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), recognizing the needs of an emerging air cargo industry, sponsored the first International Air Cargo Forum. The Society continued its work developing common standards in air cargo equipment, ground handling and procedures until 1990, when TIACA separated from SAE, reorganized and, in 1994 formally established itself as an independent entity, registered in the British Cayman Islands. In January 2004, TIACA changed its company registration to its current Miami headquarters. Today, TIACA is governed by its Trustee members, who elect a 15-member Board of Directors. Day to day operations are administered by executive officers including Secretary General Daniel Fernandez, Chairman Dora Kay, Vice Chairman Gary Bartek, and Treasurer George Johnson.
