Why Dulles?

Washington Dulles International Airport is at the center of it all. Each week, Dulles boasts nearly 340 weekly international departures to major cargo centers in Europe, Asia, Central and South America, the Middle East and Africa, along with nearly 2500 domestic flights, offering shippers and forwarders an incredible array of options for moving goods around the country and around the world.

Dulles also offers a tremendous competitive advantage on airport operating costs. Air carriers landing at Dulles pay fees based on the Maximum Landing Weight (MLW), as opposed to the more expensive Maximum Take Off Weight (MTOW) charged by most competing airports. For a B747-400F, the MTOW can reach 875,000 lbs, versus a MLW of 652,000 lbs—a difference of 223,000 lbs. This difference can represent a significant annual cost savings in an airline’s bottom line.

In addition, cargo operations at Dulles enjoy proximity to the vibrant business climate of Washington, DC, home to numerous Fortune 500 companies, a booming job market, and one of the country’s most talented and highly educated workforces.
